A Heartful Morning with Lighthouse Foundation

A Heartful Morning with Lighthouse Foundation

by Clare Manera

Our charity partner, Lighthouse Foundation, held their inaugural Partners Packing Day on Tuesday 9th September 2025.

The energy was palpable as over 100 volunteers filled the lobby, which was brimming with donations. In total, we packed out 200 bags for vulnerable young people. These bags included Welcome to Lighthouse Kits and Independence Backpacks for young people entering independent living.

We were also able to fill the pantries of the Lighthouse homes and foster families and write cards to welcome young people into care and remind them that they deserve all the love the world has to offer.

Stories That Stuck

We were fortunate to hear from Harry, a young person with lived experience of homelessness and trauma, and now a proud Ambassador for Lighthouse Foundation. He shared his journey with honesty and grace, expressing deep appreciation for those who supported him along the way. His story was a powerful reminder of why this work matters and the impact that community can have in changing lives.

The Impact

The team at Lighthouse also recently shared some information around the impact their programs had in the last financial year:

  • 144 children and young people received care
  • 9 young women found safety from gender-based violence
  • 6 mothers and 8 children supported
  • 1 baby was born into the safety and love of Lighthouse's care

Lighthouse’s On For Life Philosophy

What sets Lighthouse apart is their revolutionary approach to care. They operate on an evidence-based model of care that supports homeless youth throughout the entirety of their journey. It does this by providing healthy, reliable and ongoing social connections, through therapeutic case management and community. Their On For Life philosophy ensures that no young person walks alone and that they can always access care when they need it.
