Netball has long been a sport where women excel, holding the title of Australia’s most popular team sport. As the leading women’s sporting league in the world*, the Suncorp Super Netball League has a unique ability to motivate and inspire Australian women.

Both Mavericks coaches have years of elite netball experience and are proving to young girls that they can be trailblazers in their chosen sport. If you’re a netball fan, you know Tracey Neville. A former England Roses player turned legendary coach, she won bronze with her team in the 1998 Commonwealth Games and the 1999 World Netball Championships. As a coach, she made history in 2018 when she led England to a gold medal win at the commonwealth games. Now, she’s bringing that same winning mindset to the Melbourne Mavericks, building a fierce and unique team from the ground up.

Nicole Richardson is a legend in netball. She played for Australia in both netball and softball and her team won the 1995 Netball World cup. After transitioning into coaching, she brought her elite sporting experience and tactical brilliance to the sidelines. Today, she’s instilling the same dedication and strategic thinking that earned her legendary status in her sporting career.

Tracey and Nicole are more than just coaches - they’re trailblazers. They show us what is possible when women are given the space to lead and inspire. We deeply admire everything they have achieved and the way they continue to create opportunities for women to thrive, both locally and globally.

There’s something undeniably magical about the golden hour, the brief moments just after sunrise and before sunset when the world is bathed in radiant light. It’s nature’s most flattering filter and was the muse behind Natio’s latest collection: Golden Hour.

To give you an exclusive behind-the-scenes look, I sat down with the creative minds behind the collection - our Product Development team - to uncover their inspiration, favourite products and a few hidden gems you won’t want to miss!

Kerith, can you tell us what inspired the Golden Hour collection?

This collection was inspired by nature’s most flattering light and is a celebration of the golden flowing light, low on the horizon that bathes the world in warmth preceding sunrise and sunset. The range is all about embracing this beauty and letting your unique features and your inner beauty shine! 

Nikki, you were the main developer behind the collection, what are some hidden gems we might not know about it at first look?

The Eyeshadow Book has a removable mirror! You can pull it out and pop it in your handbag and voila! – you have a travel ready mirror. Plus, the Cream Bronzer can be used so many ways - on your face or eyes. As a makeup artist I’m all about multi use products, especially ones that give you an overall bronzed glow.

What products are you loving most from the range and why?

Eliza – My top pick is the Luminous Gold Glow Drops! They give a radiant, dewy finish that I love. You can mix them in with your moisturiser or foundation for a bronzed glow. The ingredients are also great for hydrating skin – Kakadu Plum, Rosehip extracts and Shea Butter! It’s a new must-have in my makeup bag.

Lisa – I love the Colour of the Bronze Goddess Liquid Eyeliner! The soft shimmery brown shade adds a subtle touch of glam to the eyes. It’s so soft and easy to use. We also formulated it to dry quickly to avoid smudging for easy application.

Clara – My faves are the two Lip Oils in Pink Sunset and Solar Kiss. We made them with Jojoba, Coconut and Vitamin E, so they hydrate and condition your lips instead of drying them out. I love that it provides the perfect gloss, shine and colour while being a non-sticky formula – no more getting your hair stuck in your lip gloss!

Natio has confirmed a partnership with NZ House & Garden Tours to take place across Aotearoa New Zealand in February and March.

Fifteen years running, these charity tours support Breast Cancer Foundation NZ by raising more than NZD$100,000 each year to aid breast cancer research and local services. The tours allow home and garden enthusiasts to visit beautifully curated houses and are staffed by a group of wonderful volunteers.

How-to apply:

1. With a fluffy brush, blend ‘Sandstone’ into the crease. Sweep any remaining shadow across the eyelid
2. Apply ‘Shell’ towards the brow bone to create a seamless transition and eliminate harsh lines
3. Using a flat brush, apply ‘Sunrise’ across the mobile eyelid, keeping it below the crease
4. With a smaller fluffy brush, apply ‘Twilight’ to the outer corners for depth, blending into the crease
5. For the final touch, use your ring finger to dab ‘Sunset’ onto the center of your lid and let this shimmer bring a little sparkle to the eyes! 

Pro tip: Apply eyeshadow before concealer for ease of clean up and to create a polished look.

The Catcher In the Rye by J.D.Salinger

Catcher in the Rye is a classic for a good reason - after each read, it gives something important back to you. Its like a warm blanket that you can (and probably should) cuddle up in and read all in one night. Holden (the main character) is so easy to relate to, like a good friend in high school that you don’t talk to anymore, or a family friend that you spent summers with in your teens. Being an adult can be phoney at times and its very fulfilling to move that from the back of your mind and let it live the front for a bit. Life isn’t always the adventure you want or plan for, but there is wisdom in making mistakes and ultimately, despite the ups and downs, you’re on the right track!

Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver

This book is in my top 3 books ever. I read it last summer and couldn't put it down (sorry family who I was staying with at the time)! This book is beautifully written, powerful, poignant, heartbreaking and funny all at the same time. It's a coming-of-age story of a boy growing up in the Appalachian Mountains during the 90's who has many odds stacked against him but as dark as this book can get there are shiny bright spots that will reach your heart. This book is a thick one, but every sentence is remarkable.

Oryx and Crake, Margaret Atwood

I’m a sucker for a thought-provoking page turner and I absolutely relish a dystopian fiction novel that keeps you enthralled from beginning to end. One of my favourites is from Margaret Atwood’s Madd Adam trilogy, Oryx and Crake which delves into the dark consequences of genetic engineering, environmental degradation, and corporate greed in a futuristic future. Atwood weaves a chilling narrative that questions the ethical boundaries of science, the fragility of human civilization, and the nature of love and loyalty. 

This novel makes a fantastic summer read because it’s thought-provoking yet accessible, blending speculative fiction with a thrilling plot. Its vivid imagery and sharp commentary invite deep reflection on current societal and environmental issues, making it not just entertaining but also intellectually enriching. If you enjoy stories that challenge the status quo and spark big conversations, Oryx and Crake is an excellent choice.

The Midnight Library is one of my all-time favourite books. This book centers around Nora who believes that her life isn’t worth living anymore and attempts suicide. Nora wakes up to discover that she is in the space between life and death known as The Midnight Library. Nora is given the opportunity to take the paths of life that she didn’t choose and see what her life might have been like had she made different decisions. Not a self-help book but thought provoking and a reminder that the grass isn’t always greener.
